PRESIDENTMuhammadu Buhari has assured Nigerians that his government is working to bring the Niger Delta militancy to an end.
Buhari also said that only guilty people will be prosecuted in his administration’s war against corruption.
The president made the comments on Monday, September 12, after observing Eid prayers in his hometown, Daura, Katsina State.
According to a statement released by Buhari’s Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, the president said:
“Nigerians
can see what we have done on Boko Haram and what we are doing to
resolve the problem in the Niger Delta. Before the elections, we
identified three major problems confronting our country. The first is
security; we need to sufficiently secure our country to manage it well.”
“The
second is economy, especially job for the youths and fighting
corruption which is continuous. For the youths, graduates and
non-graduates who are interested in agriculture, the Federal Ministry of
Agriculture in collaboration with the CBN are doing something to
provide employment for them.”
Buhari also informed Nigerians that his administration did not inherit anything from previous administrations.
The
president had earlier assured citizens that his government is working
tirelessly to solve the economic crisis in the country.
